EOD in Test, Intraday trailing in PRO

TakeProfitTrader (TPT) has quietly built the highest Trustpilot rating of any major futures prop firm at 4.7/5. Their killer feature: day-1 payouts. From the moment you pass your evaluation and enter your PRO account, you can request a withdrawal. No waiting period, no "prove yourself" phase. They also offer 5 account sizes ($25K to $150K) and a path to PRO+ with EOD drawdown and higher limits.

The pricing is mid-range ($60-$120/mo with promos), and trailing drawdown in the evaluation phase is the main downside for active traders. But the combination of instant payouts and industry-leading reputation makes TPT a top choice for traders who prioritize trust and cash flow speed.

📋 Test → PRO → PRO+ Path

TPT uses a simple 3-stage model: Test → PRO → PRO+. Pass the one-step Test evaluation, and you're funded.

Test (Evaluation)

Hit 6% profit target. Min 5 trading days. Best day < 50% of total profit. EOD trailing drawdown. No time limit.

PRO: intraday trailing DD, 80/20 split, buffer zone. After ~$5K profit: PRO+ invitation with EOD DD, 90/10 split, no buffer.

⚠️ Drawdown Flip: EOD → Intraday in PRO

TPT's biggest catch: the Test uses forgiving EOD trailing drawdown, but PRO funded accounts switch to strict intraday trailing. If you peak at +$800 profit mid-day but close at +$300, your drawdown adjusts from the $800 peak — not the $300 close. This catches many traders in their first week of funded trading. PRO+ (earned after ~$5K profit) switches back to EOD.

⚖️ Evaluation vs Funded: What Changes?

TPT has removed Daily Loss Limits from all evaluations. But the funded stage still has critical differences to watch for.

All evals: Daily Loss Limit REMOVED. Be consistent (min 5 days, best day <50%). No trading bots. No counter positions across accounts. 40% OFF is recurring (for life). $0 activation fee.

⚠️ Critical: PRO Drawdown is INTRADAY — Not EOD

This is the #1 reason TPT funded accounts fail. In Test, you can be down $1,500 intraday and recover by close. In PRO, if your unrealized P&L peaks at +$800 and then drops, your drawdown floor has permanently moved up by $800. The upside: no consistency rule, daily payouts, and $0 activation/monthly fees. Trade smaller in PRO.

Day-1 payouts is TPT's killer feature. Most firms require 5+ winning days or a waiting period. TPT lets you withdraw profits from the moment you're funded. Combined with the path to 90/10 PRO+ and no total payout cap, this makes TPT the best choice for traders who prioritize cash flow.

🏆 Final Verdict

TakeProfitTrader — 8.3/10

TPT combines the highest trust rating (4.7 Trustpilot) with the fastest payouts (day 1 above buffer). The PRO → PRO+ progression gives you a path from 80/20 to 90/10 with EOD drawdown. Main drawback: intraday trailing DD in PRO catches traders off guard after the forgiving Test phase. No EAs and news restrictions limit some strategies. Best for experienced intraday traders who prioritize fast payouts and firm reputation.

❓ FAQ

Is TakeProfitTrader legit?
Yes. TPT has the highest Trustpilot rating of any major futures prop firm at 4.7/5. Founded in 2021, they've built a strong reputation for reliable payouts and transparent communication. They're one of the most trusted names in the space.
Can I really withdraw on day 1?
Yes. From the moment you enter your PRO funded account, you can request a withdrawal. There's no waiting period or minimum winning day count for your first payout. This is unique — most firms require 5-10 winning days before your first withdrawal.
What's the difference between PRO and PRO+?
PRO is your initial funded account: trailing drawdown, 80/20 split. After demonstrating consistent profitability, TPT may upgrade you to PRO+: EOD drawdown, 90/10 split, and higher withdrawal limits. The upgrade is based on performance, not a fixed timeline.
Why does TPT use trailing drawdown in evaluation?
TPT actually uses EOD trailing in the Test (eval) phase, which is relatively forgiving. The catch is that PRO funded accounts switch to strict intraday trailing — equity peaks during the day permanently reduce your room. This is the opposite of what many traders expect. PRO+ accounts (earned after ~$5K profit) switch back to EOD trailing.
Is the $130 activation fee waived?
Often yes. TPT frequently runs promotions that waive the activation fee entirely. Use code XXX or check our deals page for current offers. Even without a waiver, the $130 is a one-time fee (not recurring like Apex's $85/mo PA fee).
Can I trade around news events?
TPT restricts trading 2 minutes before and after major economic releases (FOMC, NFP, CPI, etc.). This is stricter than Apex, Topstep, and MFFU (all allow news trading). If news trading is your primary strategy, TPT is not the best fit.
